Pennsylvania State Licensing Requirements
Steps for obtaining your license include:
- Completion of the state mandated educational requirement sixty (60) hours of instruction consisting of two courses:
R.E. Fundamentals (30 hours)
R.E. Practice (30 hours)
- Passing a written license exam which is taken after completing the required courses. For information regarding testing, please visit www.psiexams.com
- Sponsorship by, and affiliation with, a licensed Real Estate Broker at the time of license application
CGREA begins a new series of classes approximately every four weeks. Courses are evening programs. Both courses in the evening, (4 weeks each course). Pre Licensing Courses
Real Estate Fundamentals - A thirty (30) hour program offering a comprehensive overview of the technical and legal aspects of Real Estate. Topics covered include: rights and interests in land, how ownership is held, transfer of rights and interests, contract law, mortgages, and state licensing laws. Cost: $150.00
Real Estate Practice - A thirty (30) hour program designed to provide the student with an introduction to all facets of the Real Estate business, with emphasis on residential brokerage activities. Topics covered include: agency, brokerage, fair housing, listing contracts, sales agreements, residential finance techniques, appraisal, closings and real estate mathematics. Cost: $225.00
Modern Real Estate Practice in PA (current edition) Required for both courses. Cost: $35.00
Student Workbook - Required for both courses. Cost $25.00
